In their life, at one point or another, people deny to themselves and others what they really feel and what really happened. Some people go on living their entire lives denying their true emotions. In Toni Morrisonââ¬â¢s novel Sula, characters constantly denied their feelings and their actions. Sula Peace, her best friend Nel Wright, and Nelââ¬â¢s mother do not listen to their feelings and hide from their true emotions. Sula Peace is one of the protagonists of the novel. She is born to a very unstable family and is from that moment treated differently in ââ¬Å"the Bottomâ⬠, the black section of Medallion, Ohio. As Sula became older she continued to run from her emotions and from her problems. When Nel married Jude Greene in 1927, Sula ran away after the wedding. She ran for ten years because she thought that her and Nelââ¬â¢s friendship would not say the same and that Jude would replace her in Nelââ¬â¢s life. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; When Sula returned to Medallion, she came back the same person as the one who left. She was still running from her problems and her past. Sula put Eva into a nursing home because Eva brought back memories of how Sula watched her own mother die. Once again Sula ran away fro her past trying to change the future. A little after, when Nel asked Sula why Eva was put in a nursing home, Sula lied to Nel saying: ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m scared Nellie. Dear Mama Analysis of Rap Lyrics as Poetry - 2070 Words
An ode can be defined as a ceremonious lyric poem on an occasion of dignity in which personal emotion and universal themes are united (Ode, 2012). While hip-hop is known for its violent, masculine, and often, misogynistic lyrics, Dear Mama (1995), the first single from Tupac Shakurs album, Me Against the World (1995), can be considered to be a modern ode. Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac, one of hip-hops most influential rappers, intended to pay homage to his mother through this song and frequently referenced it in many of his later songs. Dear Mama (1995) contains many elements that allow its lyrics to be analyzed from a literary perspective including tone, theme, and lyrical style. Edward G. Armstrong (2001) has argued that rap is dependent on lyrical content and that rappers avoid using metaphors and word play, instead choosing to transmit their message directly and foregoing any subtleties that may be implied through the lyrics (p. 99). Armstrong (2001) contends that through anal ysis of rap lyrics, the narrator provides the listener with a first-person perspective of modern urban life (p. 99). Whereas many rappers have exploited the hard and violent lifestyle to which they have been continuously exposed to in their music, often through the celebration of misogyny and violence, Shakurs Dear Mama (1995) not only pays tribute to his mother, but also to the countless mothers who have made sacrifices for their children. Analysis of Work, Energy and Power Experiment Essays
Analysis of Work, Energy and Power Experiment Essays Analysis of Work, Energy and Power Experiment Essay Analysis of Work, Energy and Power Experiment Essay Analysis of Data In the first part of the experiment, we use a fan cart and first thing we do it to get the force of the fan cart by tying a string in the fan cart and hang a mass until the system is not moving that means that it is in equilibrium state. The tension in the string is equal so that the hanging mass multiplied by the gravitational pull of the earth which is 9. 8 ms2 is equal to the force exerted by the fan cart. Then we remove the string and turn on the fan cart and then let it move and record the time when it passes the certain distance in the track. We can say that the time thatââ¬â¢s being recorded for the four trials is directly proportional to the distance or displacement that being covered by the cart, as the displacement increases the time also increases, and we can also say that the velocity is constant because the fan cart gives off a constant force. The result that we got for work in the four trials is increasing from the first trial to the last trial because we increases the distance it covers and the work is the product of the force and the distance covered by the object. And the power is the rate at which the work is done it is the work done per unit of time which is second. We got the values of power by dividing the work by the time we got in the smart timer reading. And in table 2, we measure the length of the string and the initial height which is the distance of the mass in the table which serve as our reference line. And the using the spring balance we lift the mass in different angles, in trial 1 we use 30à °, second trial we use 60à °, third trial 45à ° and the fourth trial we use 90à °. As we lift the mass we measure the distance of the mass from our reference line and the horizontal distance of it from its original position and also we record the reading of the force in the spring balance. From those values we compute for the work and the gravitational potential energy of that table. For the work done we use the formula w=mg L 1-cos? and for the gravitational potential energy we use the formula PEg=mg(hf-h0). We must derive the same result with the work done and the gravitational potential energy or close to that because L 1-cos? s equals to hf-h0. There are hundredths discrepancies on the result maybe because of our measurement in the height but we can say that it is also close to each other. Conclusion In this experiment I learn that the greater the displacement the greater the work done with a constant force acting on the system. And also I learn that the work done is equal to the gravitational potential energy. Work, power and energy vary directly to the displa cement or change in height. There is no work done, power and energy when there is no displacement occurs in the system. Energy is just changing from one form to another and it is neither be destroyed nor created. It is the ability of an object to do work and the rate of work with respect to time is called power. And work is just the product of the force and the displacement. The can be positive, negative and even zero depending on the angles between the force acting on it and the displacement done by the object. The gravitational potential energy is the energy stored within an object due to its height above the surface of the earth. To lift a certain object upward, the work must be done against the downward pull of the earth. And it also varies directly to the weight of an object that being lifted, the heavier the object is the higher work or energy is needed to lift it upward. One of the best examples of work, energy and power is when you are walking at a certain displacement, even you are just walking youââ¬â¢re already doing work the force is your weight and multiplied it to the displacement you covered from walking you already compute the work youââ¬â¢ve done and the power is basically the work over the time you covered from walking, the power is the rate of the work youââ¬â¢ve done and the energy is capacity for doing that work which is walking.

You can decide the topic whatever you want by those requirements I posted - Essay Example The painting has recurring rhythmic pattern similar to rhythm as used in jazz. Jazz are unique music in which he various musical elements including the lyric work in tandem to create a unified rhythm. The painter uses rhyming shapes, sizes and color among other design elements to create a unified piece. The painterââ¬â¢s ability to use various design elements ye achieve harmony in the final product is a feature unique to jazz music. The selection of bold colors and a jumbled sound pattern in the painting makes its structure synonymous to that of rock and roll type of music. Just as with any other professional painter, Delaunay uses the various design elements strategically in order to achieve both harmony and emphasis in the painting. However, his choice of the design elements to use makes the painting grab attention, as is the case with the high-pitched rhythm of rock music. Jacques-Louis David portrays his painting genius in the painting as he employs numerous principles of design. Principles of design refer to acceptable set of rules that govern the utilization of the various visual elements that painters use. The design elements include space, color, form and texture among others. A painter uses more than a single design element when creating an artifact as is the case with The Death of Socrates painted by Jacques-Louis Davidââ¬â¢s painting. The renowned painter therefore observes a number of design principles thus ensuring that the he creates a holistic painting that communicates effectively. Key among the principles is similarity and contrast. The principle of design seeks to enhance the portrayal of a focal point in a painting. Painters always use the various elements similarly. However, too much similarity in the use of the elements makes a painting boring. Jacques-Louis David uses various elements similarly while contrasting others at strategic stages thus creating a cohesive painting. The people in the painting for
